Rediscovering Brutalism will begin with a lecture by architectural historian Michael Kubo on the evolution of brutalist design and its development within Washington, D.C. The lecture will take place in the boardroom of the AIA National Headquarters. Participants will then depart on a walking and Metro tour of the K Street and Dupont Circle neighborhoods to view brutalist buildings including the headquarters of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Farragut North and Dupont Circle Metro stations, and the Sunderland Building, among others.
